Remembering The 'Tricolour'

Image
Feeling of patriotism  often comes out on 2 days, 15 Aug & 26 Jan and of course when cricket match is going on , on these 2 days we are highly enthusiastic ,patriotic songs seems to be more melodious than the regular one. I was in the dilemma for choosing the subject for my ‘Blog’ , but 15 th  Aug was on its  way so I had chosen the same because " Watan ke aage kuch nahi". Post World war II , world was divided in 2 groups Communism & Capitalist ( mainly USA & Soviet Union ). Even the so called ‘Powerful’ countries  had to choose the either side. It was difficult to stand alone in this race . Many western countries had interfered in the internal issues of independent India for their benefits .Within 25 years we had fought 4 Wars , 3 against Pak &  one against China .1971 war gave birth to Bangladesh , where India entered in to save the humanity .Pak surrendered to India which is our  the greatest military success....

In Intraday Trading, Stocks screening has to be done on  Daily  basis Following Categories of Stocks can be considered for Intraday Trading 1.High Beta Sector stocks High Beta sectors are those who are Highly volatile in Nifty movement. Some of the sectors are - A. Banking B. Infrastructure C. Automobile D. Metal E. Realty These sectors’’stocks give good returns when Nifty is in strong trend (Uptrend/Downtrend) however these stocks should be avoided in Sideways Market 2.High Volume Stocks In any of Trading platform/website you can see stocks ‘Most Active by Volume’; You can trade in the stock if the volume is higher on that day. Investment Approach in Global Crisis

Investing in normal days vs Investing in Global crisis is always different so do with strategy! Ideally one should not restrict themselves looking into favorite / traditional instruments Instruments Available 1.Bank Deposits (Fixed / Term) 2.Mutual Funds 3.Equity Shares 4.Fixed Income Instruments 5.Post Office Deposits etc. Investment Goals There is always going to be trade off between  Risk & Return . The objectives should be very clear whether to  Mitigate the Risk or Earn more Returns. Strategy Once your Investment goal is clear then you can easily eliminate some instruments while It is always advisable not to invest whole amount in one instrument I will still stick to the  2  traditional strategies - 1. Bottom to Top  approach This is nothing but analyzing Company / Business first then Industry/ Sector followed by Economy as whole (Country / Global). In this you always focus more on  Micro Economic  factors as your study is focused on the parti...

Start'Ups'&'Downs'

Whenever there is a discussion about Startups one common opinion among experts is “In India 95% Startups fail”; obviously there are some who have been successful and established themselves as strong and emerging players like Swiggy, ixigo, Ola etc. When I read various report, articles, papers on this subject I have found reasons behind Startups’’ failure - some of them are - 1.        Lack of experience 2.        Business models are not sustainable 3.        Failure in market capture 4.        Less scope of growth 5.        Financial issues Business might make losses in the initial period but after some point of time it has to achieve Break-Even Point. Any Business’s survival depends on how much loss the stakeholders are able to digest. If Investors don’t see much improvement in the situation they might pull curtains off ...

World After Corona

Image
(Message of hope from Switzerland Alps for India) Actually I don’t want to write again on Corona & lockdown but I couldn’t resist myself of doing so. We (India) have fought against Corona. Now we have about to seal this battle (hopefully) very soon. I am very curious about how the world is going to be after Corona? Politics – 1.USA might lose its power considerably, as superpower. Over past 70 years US has ruled world with its economic and technological power. I won’t see much effect on their economic stability as this country is financially still power house, they have recovered themselves through great depression. Human Capital that to skilled labor is the most valuable capital among all the capitals,It acts an invisible hand in every civil society development. 2.Expiry Date of many international organizations After WWII,UNO and its sister organizations were established to solve the conflicts also to give common platform for all the countries. But, the arra...

Investment karna Jaroori hai kya ?

Image
One common mistake people make while discussing about stock market is using the term Investment & Trading interchangeably , However , they are not the same . Trading – Buying & Selling of the security to earn the price gap as Profit. You don’t need to fall in love with security / company. Investments – To Buy the security & hold it for longer duration , aim is to maximize the wealth. (You actually fall in the love with the security) Investment can be as short as for 4-6 months to as long as lifetime. In this post we will try to understand which are the best sectors to invest while keeping the following parameters in mind. 1. Wealth Maximization 2. Minimum Risk 3. Asset appreciation 4. Regular Income Let us understand with the favorite investment option available is – Fixed Deposits in Bank 1. Wealth Maximization – You get Compound Interest throughout 2. Minimum Risk – Deposits in Bank are safe(?) at least we can assume it 3. Asset appreciation – Hope th...

No Option for 'Options'

Image
My friend Payal asked me few Qs about Derivative Options, I promised her that I will answer her Qs because I don’t have any other ‘Option’. For a while forget Derivative Options Let’s understand what option is .. Option gives you a chance to exercise it , It a chance but No Compulsion   Always remember, Option will be always executed if and only if it is beneficial to the executor When it comes to Derivative Options, The Value is derived by something it can be index or company stock . The Option doesn’t have its own value as value is derived (backed) by something. This gives birth to an important concept Equity Derivatives - Equity Derivatives are in 4 types 1.        Futures 2.       Options 3.       Swaps 4.       Forward We can actually write series of articles on each one of the above , but let’s restrict our self to Options You can take ...
